MEMORISE: And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

READ: Isaiah 30:21

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 4:1-41, Numbers 5-6

MESSAGE:

Do you know that it is not God’s will to make you go through life blindly? As a child of God, you are supposed to hear His instructions before you do anything. This is why Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls Him our Guide, Teacher and Counsellor. He is to teach us all things but the issue is that many people think hearing Him speak to us is a very difficult thing. I used to think so too until I heard God speak to me loudly and clearly. In fact, I wasn’t sure it was Him so I asked that He repeat the statement and He did. I then knew I had gotten the most priced treasure any child of God can ever have.

You too can hear God easily. First, do away with sin. Secondly, let Him know how much you love Him and want to be directed by Him. Also, dig deep into His word. Get a journal, write down insights that come to your mind from His word and pray about them fervently. Gradually, as you go about your daily activities, the Holy Spirit will start speaking to your heart as an inward witness. Sometimes, He will drop a passage of the Bible into your mind and as you do whatever He tells you to, He will take you to the next level which is His audible voice.

KEY POINT: God still speaks to His children.

HYMN: Lead Us Heavenly Father

Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
o’er the world’s tempestuous sea;
guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
for we have no help but Thee;
yet possessing every blessing,
if our God our Father be.

Savior, breathe forgiveness o’er us:
all our weakness Thou dost know;
Thou didst tread this earth before us,
Thou didst feel its keenest woe;
lone and dreary, faint and weary,
through the desert Thou didst go.

Spirit of our God, descending,
fill our hearts with heavenly joy,
love with every passion blending,
pleasure that can never cloy:
thus provided, pardoned, guided,
nothing can our peace destroy.
