Open Heaven For Teens Thursday 24 March 2022 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

TOPIC: Revealer Of Secrets

MEMORISE: But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; Daniel 2:28

READ: Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 4:1-44, Joshua 11-13

MESSAGE:

Our God is unfathomable. He has secrets which He reveals to any child of His at will in order to accomplish a purpose. In the Bible, whenever God wanted to do anything in a nation, He usually revealed it to His prophets first. The Bible says:

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” – Amos 3:7

God uses different means to reveal secrets or send messages to His children. It could be through a preachers sermon, teachers lecture, parent’s instruction, friends advice or an enemy’s brutality. He could even put words in the mouth of an animal as He did with the donkey when He wanted to warn Balaam, His prophet (Numbers 22:28-30).

When God decides to reveal things to you through others, it means He is mindful of you but when He shares with you directly, then you’re special. Seek to have a direct access to God by drawing nearer to Him, communicate more with Him by praying in tongues and meditating on His word.

KEY POINT:

To know a fellow’s secret, you must be close to him/her. Draw close to God to hear secrets.

HYMN 9: Nearer, My God

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
nearer to thee!
E’en though it be a cross
that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God,

Though like the wanderer,
the sun gone down,
darkness be over me,
my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I’d be
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee!

There let the way appear,
steps unto heaven;
all that Thou sendest me,
in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee!

Then with my waking thoughts
bright with Thy praise,
out of my stony griefs
Bethel I’ll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee!

Or if, on joyful wing
cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot,
upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee.
