Topic: Cool The Fire

Read: Matthew 5:23-24
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
34 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

MESSAGE:
When someone is angry with you, you may feel the urge to talk back at this person or defend yourself, but this only makes things worse.
Anger is like a fire and it must be quenched immediately. When you see a fire that should be quenched, you don’t throw a burning stick into it, you throw in anything that will cool it off. If you talk back, complain or murmur when anyone is angry at you, especially a superior, you are only adding fire to the fire and when it escalates, it will burn you badly. Instead, use soft words like “I’m sorry”. After saying you are sorry a number of times, the fire is bound to go down. When you are sure that the fire is completely quenches, then you can go back to explain yourself in the gentlest manner possible.
Key Point: Fire doesn’t quench fire, what will must be as cool as water.
