Topic: Replaced By Stones?

Memorise: Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. 2 Kings 13:14

Bible Reading: Luke 19:37-40

37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 145-147; 1 Corinthians 11:1-34

MESSAGE:

When Joash went to see Prophet Elisha who was on the sick bed, all he did was to call him special names. He didn’t go there to request for any special miracle. This is an example of what you should do when you go before God. Calling God special names is an act of special worship to God, so learn to call Him special names.

Psalms 100:4 says “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise…”

When you worship God by calling Him endearing names, you will receive the kind of miracles that you least expect. Worshipping Him will also move Him to fight your battles. Remember Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, God commands us to thank Him both for what He has done and for what He is yet to do. Praise is appreciating God for His acts. You can praise Him for parting the Red Sea, pulling down the walls of Jericho et cetera. It is very important to praise Him, otherwise He would raise stones to do so according to our Bible reading today. So don’t wait for a miracle to happen in your life before you praise God. Determine to praise God for as long as you have breath as from today.

Key Point:

Praise God for 30 minutes today.

Hymn: Let Us With A Gladsome Mind

Let us with a gladsome mind
Praise the Lord for He is kind:

Chorus:
For His mercies shall endure,
ever faithful, ever sure.

God, with all-commanding might,
Filled the new-made world with light:

All things living He doth feed;
His full hand supplies their need:

Let us then with gladsome mind
Praise the Lord, for He is kind:

He His chosen race did bless
In the wasteful wilderness.
