TOPIC: Don’t Lose Your Joy

MEMORISE: Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4

READ: Psalms 33:1

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 73-74, Romans 5:1-21

MESSAGE:

There are many situations in life that may threaten ones peace to the extent that one might complain or give up on life. These situations make you doubt if God actually exists because of the assumption that salvation gives immunity against unpleasant situations. Well, surrendering your life to Jesus does not completely spare you of challenges.Salvation puts you ahead of the devil and his gimmicks, it also gives you a direct access to God anytime and this should be the basis of your joy.

Happiness is different from joy. While the former can be as a result of good things happening to or around you, joy comes from the fact that God has got your back both in good and bad times. Jeremiah 29:11 says:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

My child, believe that God is behind the scenes working in your favour. Let nothing steal your joy regardless of any unpleasant situation you may be passing through now. Rejoice in the Lord!

ACTION POINT:

Write 10 things you are grateful for. This will boost your attitude throughout the day.

HYMN: Be Glad In The Lord

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made
Him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

Chorus
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

Be joyful for He is the Lord,
On earth and in Heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules
by His word; The “Mighty” and “Strong”
to redeem.

What though in the conflict
for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid
from your sight,
Are more than the foes
which assail.

Though darkness surround
you by day,
Your sky by the night
be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.

Be glad in the Lord
and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming
in song;
With harp, and with
organ and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong!
