TOPIC: Strengthen Your Emotions

MEMORISE: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10

READ: James 1:2-4 (KJV)

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Zechariah 10-12, Revelation 20:1-15

MESSAGE:

Those who know their God shall be emotionally strong because they are connected to the Source of joy. Have you suffered an emotional breakdown? The Lord is speaking strength to you now. According to Nehemiah 8:10, the joy of the Lord has elements of strength and anyone who lacks it becomes weak. The Bible encourages us to rejoice always because the extent of your joy will determine the extent of your strength.

Joy is the mother of happiness. A teenager who knows his or her God shall be emotionally strong because his or her joy is rooted in the Lord and not in the love showed by the opposite sex which can fade away. Joy is not affected by any unpleasant event or personal loss. As long as God is constant in a persons life, his or her joy remains constant. My dear son or daughter, are there matters making you weep now? My Daddy says I should tell you to rejoice because everything will turn out for your good.

ACTION POINT:

To fuel your joy, count past blessings and recount how God showed up for you.

HYMN: BE GLAD IN THE LORD

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made Him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

CHORUS
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

Be joyful for He is the Lord,
On earth and in Heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules by His word;
The “Mighty” and “Strong” to redeem.

What though in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.

Though darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
With harp, and with organ and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong!
