MEMORISE: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Malachi 3:3

READ: 1 Corinthians 3:1

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 2:25-52, Joshua 7-8

MESSAGE

There are great lessons to learn from the process of refining silver. To start with, the silversmith holds a piece of silver in the middle of the fire where the flames are hottest, in order to burn away all the impurities. He has to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time its in the fire because if its left for too long, it will be destroyed. The moment he sees his image in it, he knows the silver is fully formed and quickly removes it.

This is the same way God refines His true children. He uses the heat of life to purify them into a pure picture of Himself where it burns out the works of the flesh, bad attitude, and selfishness from them. He also allows the struggles of life to refine and conform them into His image. Therefore, whenever you’re going through trials or temptations, God is right there as the silversmith, ensuring that you don’t burn. He wants to use the process to refine you and make you come out pure. He is a specialist at producing masterpieces, of which you are one. Don’t turn away from Him for any reason, remain in the process so that Christ can be fully formed in you.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please help me to know how and when to talk and when not to

HYMN: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay,
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.

Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.

I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song while climbing shall resound
Lord lead me on to higher ground.

Lord lead me up the mountain side,
I dare not climbnwithout my Guide;
And heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
