TOPIC: From Prison To Palace

MEMORISE: But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. Matthew 19:30

READ: Genesis 41:37-41

And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 1-2, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17

MESSAGE:

The life of Joseph clearly shows that God can change a bad situation to good. Joseph was a slave thrown into Pharaoh’s dungeon after facing a false allegation of rape. He was condemned to prison because he didn’t have anyone to defend him before being sentenced to life imprisonment. However, God miraculously intervened till he received a presidential pardon without a defence attorney to plead his case. He was moved up to the throne in a matter of hours. From that moment, his former master, Potiphar became his subordinate. He could have sentenced him and his entire family, especially Mrs. Potiphar to jail in the same prison he came out from but he didn’t have a heart that thought of revenge or retaliation.

Are you in prison or suffering for a sin you didn’t commit? The good news is that you’re coming out. It doesn’t matter how deep the dungeon is, the Lord is bringing you up from that place where you were kept and forgotten. He has not forgotten you, He will rescue you and you will be free in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please reposition me for greatness today.

HYMNS: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

I’m pressing on
the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining
every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet
on higher ground”.

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy
and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet
on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay,
Where doubts arise
and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell
where these abound,
My constant aim
is higher ground.

Beyond the mist
I fain would rise,
To rest beneath
unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil
peace is found
By those who dwell
on higher ground.

I long to scale
the utmost height,
Though rough the way,
and hard the fight,
My song while climbing shall
resound
Lord lead me on
to higher ground.

Lord lead me up
the mountain side,
I dare not climb
without my Guide;
And heaven gained,
I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher
ground.
