TOPIC: Where You Are Matters

MEMORISE: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1

READ: Psalms 1:1-4

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 21-22, Acts 10:1-48

MESSAGE:

One of my sons usually says your location determines your allocation. Simply put, where you are will determine what you’ll receive. For instance, if the President of Nigeria sends you an invitation to receive a gift at a special occasion in Abuja and you have a delayed flight for four hours, definitely, you would have lost the opportunity. In the same vein, if you are supposed to be a medical doctor but right now you are in the Arts class, you are in the wrong place.

Beloved, being at the right place at the right time is instrumental to the fulfillment of your glorious destiny. However, you cannot know where to be if the Holy Spirit is not your friend. He is the One that can guide you to do the right things at the right time. Some teenagers have escaped road accidents or kidnap because the Holy Spirit told them not to board a certain vehicle; some have escaped imprisonment because they stayed away from bad company. Don’t become meat for the devil. Be guided by the Spirit of God.

PRAYER POINT: Holy Spirit, please guide me in all that I do in life.

HYMN: When We Walk With The Lord

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who
will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while
we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and
obey.

But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust
and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in
the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and
obey.
