Open Heaven For Teens Sunday 17 October 2021 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
TOPIC: Godly Seeds
MEMORISE: And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. Malachi 2:15
READ: 2 Kings 22:1-2
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
MESSAGE:
A godly seed will bring forth good fruit. Any fellow with godly seed means a lot to God because he/she is a threat to the satanic kingdom and is capable of causing unprecedented damage to their operations. This was the case with Josiah; he became a King at the age of eight and did what was right in the sight of God. I’m sure many people doubted his ability when he ascended the throne. They must have condemned the king makers for selecting wrongly and preferred an elderly man for the throne, but this young boy made God glad. After he heard the word of God read out by Priest Hilkiah from the book of the law, he commanded that all temples and property of idols be destroyed. He then made a covenant to stand by the word of God and encouraged the people to do likewise (2 Kings 23:1-37).
My dear, irrespective of your age, God has ordained you a king and leader in your little circle of influence. Be like Josiah, Samuel and Jeremiah who instead of giving in to youthful exuberance or immature behaviours, dedicated their lives to make positive impact in their generation as godly seeds.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to bring forth good fruits in Jesus name.
HYMNS: Let Others See Jesus In You
While passing through this
world of sin,
And others your
life shall view,
Be clean and pure
without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.
CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story,
be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.
Your life’s a book before
their eyes,
They’re reading it through
and through;
Say, does it point them to the
skies,
Do others see Jesus in you?
What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls
that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you.
Then live for Christ both
day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.
