Open Heaven For Teens Sunday 16 May 2021 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
TOPIC: Wisdom For Success
MEMORISE: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
READ: James 1:5-8
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 6:1-71, 2 Kings 15-17
MESSAGE:
No one can succeed in life without wisdom. Wisdom according to the dictionary is defined as the quality of having experience, knowledge or good judgement. No wonder, when God asked King Solomon to request for anything, he only asked for the principal thing: wisdom. He knew that he would not make good judgements without wisdom.
My child, you need wisdom to succeed in this life. In your academics, you need wisdom to excel. You might say you study hard; in fact, you spend the whole night reading. Do you know you can read all through the night before an examination, yet, fail? Wisdom will guide you to read the appropriate topics and portions, wisdom will also guide you to answer the questions accurately. You can become the best; all you need to do is to ask for wisdom from the God that gives liberally. He has the best wisdom tips for success in every aspect of life.
PRAYER POINT: Father, please endow me with wisdom today.
HYMN: Christian Seek Not Yet Repose
Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy guardian angel say,
“Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray!
Principalities and powers,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for thine unguarded hours:
“Watch and pray!
Gird thy heavenly armour on,
Wear it every night and day,
Ambushed lies the evil one:
“Watch and pray!
Hear the victors who overcame;
Still they mark each warrior’s way,
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
“Watch and pray!
Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word,
“Watch and pray!
Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
“Watch and pray!”
