Open Heaven For Teens Saturday 9 October 2021 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
TOPIC: All For Good
MEMORISE: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1
READ: Ecclesiastes 3:1-3
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 41-42, Colossians 1:1-29
MESSAGE:
There is time for everything on earth and time is one of the best resources God gave to man. While other materials can be recovered if abused or misplaced, time cannot be restored because it passes with each tick of the clock. So, if you take it for granted by not doing the right things now, you will have yourself to blame in the future. For instance, a teenager who spends all day sleeping, chatting with friends, having fun on social media instead of studying and conducting research on new topics may later become poor at his/her academics and may later be expelled. What do you think will become of such a person? He will serve his mates later in the future.
Therefore, whatever you want to achieve now must be done urgently in order to avoid any future regrets. Jesus understood this while on earth. He wasted no time in teaching His disciples all that they needed to know. If at this age you go late to lectures, submit your assignment late, go late to church services, fellowship or you honour appointments late, then, you have no regard for time. That same time will deal with you in future.
KEY POINT:
Time waits for no one, spend your time wisely.
HYMN: All Things Bright And Beautiful
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning
That brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.
