TOPIC: The Source Of Wisdom

MEMORISE: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

READ: 2 Chronicles 1:9-12

Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 26-27, John 11:18-57

MESSAGE:

God is the source of all that we are, have and know. Solomon established that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7 ) and wisdom (Proverbs 9:10 ). When a believer understands and recognizes God as the source of life, knowledge and wisdom, he or she will go through life with clarity and direction. Those who reverence God and acknowledge Him as their source will never be stranded in life.

In today’s Bible text, Solomon asked for wisdom to lead Gods people, God granted his request and up till date, there is no man as wise as he in all the earth. As a teenager, its important you recognize God as the source of your wisdom. When He gives you wisdom, you will become exceptional in everything you set your heart to do. He will breathe on you and cause you to excel. When God is at work in you, everything you touch including your studies will become fruitful.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please give me wisdom to excel in everything I do.

HYMN 7: Christian Seek Not Yet Repose

Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy guardian angel say,
“Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray!

Principalities and powers,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for thine unguarded hours:
“Watch and pray!

Gird thy heavenly armour on,
Wear it every night and day,
Ambushed lies the evil one:
“Watch and pray!

Hear the victors who overcame;
Still they mark each warrior’s way,
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
“Watch and pray!

Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart
His word,
“Watch and pray!

Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may
be sent down:
“Watch and pray!”
