TOPIC: Use Your Gift

MEMORISE: A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16

READ: Romans 8:19

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 2-4

MESSAGE:

There is at least one gift deposited into everyone at birth. While some pay attention to it early in life, some don’t. When I was younger, I discovered I was good in sports so I channeled all my energy into it in high school. I won several medals and later became a coach to students in many secondary schools.

Today, many young people are uniquely contributing their innovations to enrich the world. Sadly, the divide between the developed and developing nations is getting bigger every day. Some African countries remain in penury because their best brains are leaving the country for greener pastures. Even though I understand their pain, I still believe that the only green pasture of a child of God is where God has planted him/her and until He moves you, you must blossom there.

If God put you in a developing country and gave you a talent, its about time you started planning how to invent something that can serve your country. If more children of God express their gifts in music, technology, sports, fashion, public speaking, teaching, et cetera the world will be a better place to live in. Let your gift find expression.

KEY POINT: Have you discovered your gift? If you have, are you using it?

HYMN: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING

“There shall be showers of blessing:”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

CHORUS
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

“There shall be showers of blessing,”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

“There shall be showers of blessing;”
Send them upon us, Oh Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honour Thy Word.

“There shall be showers of blessing:”
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

“There shall be showers of blessing,”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
