TOPIC: Undefiled I

MEMORISE: Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Psalm 119:1

READ: Psalms 119:1-3

1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 7; Mark 4:21-41

MESSAGE:

To be undefiled means to be unpolluted, pure, virtuous or upright. The undefiled is one who had the opportunity to be defiled, yet, chose not to. Sexual purity is a virtue that is becoming a farce in this generation. God expects all His children to be pure, so, you have to choose not to be defiled, no matter what it takes.

I know that as a teenager, you are faced with many temptations. Sometimes, you feel left out because you are not doing what others are doing. Don’t allow what others think of you determine how you behave, rather, be guided by the word of God. This is because you will be judged by the word on the last day. Sex is overrated: you may not understand this until you get married. Stay pure till your wedding night because it has a lot of advantages. One, you will not fall prey to Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and unwanted pregnancy as a lady. Two, you will be blessed by God according to our memory verse. Also, when you eventually get married, your spouse will call you blessed.

REFLECTION:

Sexual purity is not to be traded with any pleasure at all.

HYMN 9: I AM THINE O LORD

I am Thine O Lord
I have heard Thy voice
And it told Thy love to me
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord
By the pow’r of grace divine
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope
And my will be lost in Thine.

Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend.

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
