Open Heaven For Teens Friday 27 August 2021 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

TOPIC: A House For You

MEMORISE: In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

READ: John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 132-135, 1 Corinthians 8:1-13

MESSAGE:

Many teenagers in third world or underdeveloped countries are deprived of the basic amenities of life such as food, clothing and shelter. Some have been rendered homeless in war-torn countries but if you still have a roof over your head as you’re reading this devotional now, I want you to pause and say Thank you Jesus.

When I became the General Overseer, I resigned from my lecturing job and moved out of the big house the University allocated to me but my family was still there. I moved to a one-room apartment in Lagos which was close to the headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Time was running out concerning the other apartment and I was always reminding God that if He didn’t give me a decent house in Lagos, my family would soon become homeless in Ilorin. One day, God spoke to me, Son, stop asking me for a house, I have decided to give you a city. To the glory of God, 35 years after, the city He promised me sits on thousands of hectares of land and we are still expanding.

Are your parents threatened by a quit notice from the landlord? Are you squatting here and there with relatives or friends at night? I decree that in the name of Jesus, that situation will end this month. If God has prepared a place for you in heaven, rest assured that He won’t leave you stranded on earth. Believe that you will no more be homeless.

ACTION POINT: Father, please provide a befitting accommodation for all the homeless teenagers around the world.

HYMN: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

There shall be showers of
blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be
seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

CHORUS
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of
blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

There shall be showers of
blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honour Thy
Word.

There shall be showers of
blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God
we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

There shall be showers
of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be
seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
