TOPIC: A Lasting Impression

MEMORISE: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. Genesis 3:23

READ: James 4:17

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 1-3, Galatians 2:1-21

MESSAGE:

Your expressions and actions will give a lasting impression of you. In Genesis 18:8, Abraham was actively involved in the preparation of the food for his guests. There are some little courtesies you accord people which can have a long-lasting impact on them. I was invited to preach somewhere and my host lodged me in a luxurious apartment. Other men of God were also invited but were lodged in beautiful single rooms. When I asked the couple about the seeming discrimination, the husband reminded me about the week long treat my wife gave them when they visited us. He said my wife treated them as if they were royalty. This is because my wife and I believe that all of Gods children are royalty.

Watch how you treat people. If you treat your relatives badly when they come visiting on holidays or you maltreat your parents domestic staff, you are sowing the wrong seeds. You cannot tell when you will do that to an angel.

KEY POINT:

If you treat people badly, you will one day treat an angel badly.

HYMNS: Let Others See Jesus In You

While passing through this
world of sin,
And others your
life shall view,
Be clean and pure
without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.

CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story,
be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

Your life’s a book before
their eyes,
They’re reading it through
and through;
Say, does it point them to the
skies,
Do others see Jesus in you?

What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls
that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Then live for Christ both
day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.
