MESSAGE

One of the things that Jesus Christ brought to the world is peace, that is, peace with one another and God. Unfortunately, peace is missing in Christian homes, Churches, countries and the world at large today. This is because people harbour hatred towards one another and refuse to forgive when offended. As a result, families break up, Churches split, couples divorce and love is fast giving way to hatred.

How then can one operate in the peace that Jesus brought to the world? First, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour genuinely. Secondly, show others the way by living in peace with them. If you have a troublemaker around you, instead of avoiding the person, pray for him/her and make conscious efforts to love him/her, regardless of the fellow’s attitude.

In addition, when there’s a conflict, you need to understand the reason for the conflict before you react and if you are the one at fault, be humble enough to own up to your mistake, apologise and move on.

You need to know that you have the potential to change the lives of those around you, particularly the troublemakers , when you are a peacemaker.

KEY POINT: Are you a peacemaker?

HYMN: What A Friend We Have In Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear;
What a privilege to carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer
Oh! what peace we often forfeit,
Oh! what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrow share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
