Open Heaven For Teens Friday 14 January 2022 Daily Devotional was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

TOPIC: Save

MEMORISE: There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise: but a foolish man spendeth if up. Proverbs 21:20

READ: Proverbs 10:15

15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

MESSAGE:

Saving is a good culture you must imbibe from this early stage. If for instance, a farmer eats or sells all his farm produce, in no time, there would be no seed left for planting. If that were to happen all over the World, a global famine would be Inevitable. In the same manner, you must cultivate the habit of saving from this early stage, so that when you grow older and start working, things will not be hard for you.

Do you know many skilled people graduate from the University, particularly in Nigeria, and stay at home idle, waiting and hoping to get a 9 to 5 job? This will not be your portion in Jesus’ name. Hence, if you are skilled or have a business idea and you have been saving, it will not be difficult for you to start up a business or even get help when you graduate from the University.

In those days, I used to encourage my children to save in their piggy banks which could not be broken, until they became too full to accommodate more money. These days, since everything has gone global via the internet, there are online piggy banks. You can just register with one and save a particular amount from your pocket money or your bank account often.

REFLECTION:

Little drops make an ocean; hundreds grow to become thousands and millions.

HYMN: Sing hymn 8

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 11; Genesis 33-35
