Topic: The Wages Of Sin

Memorise: When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done. – Romans 6:23

Read: Exodus 18:20-24 (KJV)

Teach them the rules and laws. Show them how to live and what to do.
“But choose men of ability from all of the people. They must have respect for God. You must be able to trust them. They must not try to get money by cheating others. Appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.
Let them serve the people as judges. But have them bring every hard case to you. They can decide the easy ones themselves. That will make your load lighter. They will share it with you.
“If this is what God wants and if you do it, then you will be able to carry the load. And all of these people will go home satisfied.”
Moses listened to his father-in-law. He did everything Jethro said.
Bible In One Year: Exodus 19-21; Matthew 20:1-16

MESSAGE:

Nowadays, people especially youths trivialize sin. For example, lying ha s given different shades such as white, grey, et cetera. God’s standard remains sure. He’ll not change it for anyone: the wages of sin remains death. Sin opens people up for sicknesses. No wonder, many times Jesus healed the sick, He simply forgave their sins. For instance, in Luke 5:20, Jesus simply told the paralysed man brought into the house through the roof that his sins were forgiven. In the same vein, he told the lame man at the pool of Bethesda that his sins were forgiven but that if he went back to them, his situation would become worse. From these examples, you can see that sin is the root of many sicknesses.

Do you know that when there is trouble, God can use a sinner to replace the righteous? For example, in Daniel 6:16, Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den by his accusers, but the lions could not eat him. He was released the following day and his accusers including their family members were used to replace him. Never joke with sin because the unrighteous will be punished.

Prayer Point:

Father, please have mercy on me, help me never to toy with sin.

Hymn 19: What Can Wash Away My Stain

What can wash away my stain?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Chorus:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know, .
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2.For my cleansing this I see –
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my pardon this my plea –
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

3.Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

4.This is all my hope and peace.
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
His is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
