BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Zephaniah 1-3; Revelation 15

MESSAGE:

Christmas is tomorrow and I know it is time to have fun. Please do have fun, but I would like you to pay attention to certain things while having fun.

Don’t forget to remain pure and holy. The devil uses all the merriment to distract the Christian teenagers into losing their purity; don’t get distracted. Don’t go to a dirty party to celebrate, don’t dance to worldly songs to celebrate, don’t hang out with worldly people to celebrate. Keep yourself pure.

Also, Christmas is a time to get closer to your family. In celebrating, ensure you also celebrate with your parents. You may have memorable moments with friends, but the most memorable moment your parents will have will be with you. Spend good time at home chatting and playing with them tomorrow. Also, don’t complain about anything. They may not have bought you what you wanted for Christmas or taken you to where you want to go, but this is not the time to complain. Your complaints will not give them the money to do what you want but it can spoil the entire Christmas season for you and for them too.

REFLECTION: Is your plan on how to spend Christmas a godly one?

Hymn 16: Christian, seek not yet repose

  1. Christian, seek not yet repose
    Hear thy gracious Savior say;
    Thou art in the midst of foes:
    Watch and pray.
  2. Principalities and power
    Mustering their unseen array
    Wait for the unguarded hours:
    Watch and pray
  3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
    Wear it ever night and day;
    Ambushed lies the evil one:
    Watch and pray.
  4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
    Still they mark each warrior’s way;
    All with one sweet voice exclaim,
    Watch and pray.
  5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
    Him thou loves to obey;
    Hide within thy heart His word:
    Watch and pray.
  6. Watch, as if on that alone
    Hung the issue of the day;
    Pray, that help may be sent down:
    Watch and pray.
