TOPIC: TRUST HIM

Memorise: In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do to me. – Psalm 56:11

Read: Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 27-28, James 4

MESSAGE:

It is a dangerous thing to trust in man. God placed a curse on anyone who trusts in man (Jeremiah 17:5). The moment you put your trust in man, that fellow will most likely fail, not because he wants to but because God wants to prove to you that He is God and in Him alone should you trust. If you look back, you will realise that there are several instances when someone promised to help you or give you a gift but failed.

Trusting in man is trusting in mere dust; that man can die or be removed from office, or lose the means by which he thought to help you. Have you started building your ambition and dreams on family connections? Have you started thinking that your success will be fast because a man somewhere has promised to help? Desist from this very dangerous act and put your trust only in God. It is He alone that can help any man to help you. With His help, no man can lift a finger on your behalf

Prayer Point: Ask God for the grace to trust Him completely

Hymn 1: My faith looks up to Thee

1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be,
A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then, in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.
