Topic: The Winning Counsel

Memorise: Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14

Read: Proverbs 8:10-16 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 11-13, 1 Timothy 4

MESSAGE:

Counselling is very necessary for those who want to succeed in any area of life. If you are in difficulty over a particular aspect of life, and you fail to seek counsel concerning that difficulty, you may not avert failure. God has endowed people with wisdom in different areas, some of which have been documented in books, tapes, CDs et cetera. It is wisdom to tap from the wealth of experience of such people.

However, it is important to know that Jesus Christ is the ultimate Counsellor. He counsels like no one else does. He has all knowledge and wisdom. There are major differences between God’s counsel and man’s. God’s counsel stands the test of time and eternity. If you want an unstoppable, unbeatable counsel, go to the Counsellor. If you want a counsel that will remain relevant, take it from the Counsellor, you are sure to win.

Key Point: From today, consult the Counsellor in all aspects of life before taking any decision.

Hymn 10: What a friend we have in Jesus

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a Friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer!

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield You;
You wilt find a solace there.
