Memorise: “And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.” – 1 Kings 18:15

Read: Hebrews 12:18-24 (KJV)

18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

MESSAGE

“The Divine Presence” is a term commonly used among Christians to describe the apparent presence of the Almighty God. In the Bible, we see instances of the divine presence associated with different manifestations. Some of these manifestations occurred with bright lights, fire, heavy vibrations, visible glory, whirlwinds, loud trumpet sounds and even great silence. There were also instances of divine presence without any manifestation. The Bible speaks of the presence of God in a remarkable number of ways, and the manifestation of His presence to His children comes with the assurance of peace and security, victory in battle, unmerited favor, miraculous deliverance, divine support, healing, unusual success and breakthrough. I pray that from this day onward, God will overshadow your life with His presence in Jesus Name.

The presence of God finds its greatest expression in the person of Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:9 says,

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

Apart from the work of salvation which He came to accomplish, Jesus also came into the world to perfectly demonstrate the nature and character of God, and to experience our pains, suffering and limitations as human beings (John 14:8-11, Hebrews 2:16-17). Through His works, He showed us the significance and benefits of enjoying the presence of the Almighty God. Just as God paid attention to the suffering of His people in Egypt and stepped in to deliver them at the right time, He is fully aware of your situation, and He is highly interested in helping you out. God will step into your situation today and turn your life around for good in Jesus’ Name. Jesus has broken down the wall of separation between God and humanity (Ephesians 2:14-16). We therefore have open access to the presence of God to enjoy salvation, abundant life, peace, joy, healing, deliverance, victory and all-round success in this world. More importantly, we also have access to the straight and narrow way that leads to heaven. Are you enjoying God’s Divine presence through Jesus Christ? If you are not, you are missing out on a lot of great things. Give your life to Christ, and the Holy Spirit will flood your life with the manifest presence of God. You will then have a taste of His wonderful presence as described in today’s Bible reading. If you are saved, begin to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and He will manifest more of Jesus, who is the embodiment of the divine presence, to you. I pray that God will manifest Himself in your life so much that you will begin to tell your personal testimony all over the world in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please show me Your presence in Jesus’ Name.

Hymn 2: I Need Thee, Oh, I Need Thee.

1. I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

5. I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
