MESSAGE
One bad habit that is difficult to change is borrowing. Of course, there are instances that this may be inevitable such as when one is in need of a book or a learning aid that one cannot afford to buy at a particular time.
However, some people find it easy to borrow clothes, shoes, money and even food. To make matters worse, they find it difficult to return or pay back what was borrowed.
Some would wait for the lender to ask before he or she returns what was borrowed. Some persons would even put up a bad attitude or quarrel with the lender for asking for what is rightfully his/hers.
This attitude is unchristianly and immature. When you insult or get angry with anyone who lent you anything, you are ungrateful. Such an attitude destroys good friendships.
Borrowing what you don’t need, especially clothes and money, is an act of lack of contentment, which is a sin.
Therefore, don’t borrow money that you don’t need and if you have to borrow a learning material, return it in good time and shape.
KEY POINT: A borrower is a slave to the lender.
HYMN: JUST AS I AM
Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love,
The breadth, length, depth and
height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
