TOPIC: What’s Your Harvest?

MEMORISE: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

READ: Galatians 6:7-9

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 116-118, 1 Corinthians 2:1-16

MESSAGE:

One of the powerful laws of nature is the law of harvest. The harvest is far bigger than the seed that was sown to produce it. If a farmer plants a grain of maize, he will harvest a whole sheaf of corn that can serve about five people or more at once.

The Bible says that God gives bread to the eater and seed to the sower which implies that whenever He provides for you, He expects you to sow or give out part of it and eat the remaining. Sadly, many young people are groaning in poverty because their parents haven’t sown any good seed that the children will harvest from. You must break that trend.

I remember a time my wife prepared my favourite meal of pounded yam and chicken. Just as I was about to eat, a group of friends from Oyo state, arrived hungry. They went straight to the table and leveled my plate! After that, I left for a conference in Kenya; throughout the conference many people invited me to meals and chicken was always served.

KEY POINT: What are you presently sowing? If you want bountiful harvests, give from what you have.

HYMN: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

There shall be showers of
blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be
seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

CHORUS
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of
blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

There shall be showers of
blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honour Thy
Word.

There shall be showers of
blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God
we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

There shall be showers
of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be
seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
