TOPIC: The Power Of Vision

MEMORISE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Proverbs 23:7

READ: Genesis 2:19

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 88-89, Romans 10:1-21

MESSAGE:

In the 1970s, the Archbishop of my town visited my Grammar School. Students were lined up along the roads on both sides; hunters positioned themselves strategically and were shooting into the air as the Archbishop stepped out of a black car. When I looked at his shoes, they were shiny black. I didn’t have a pair of shoes then but I said to myself, that I would grow up to become great and come back to my town to be celebrated also. As God would have it, I became the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and visited my town. I remember that day clearly; students were lined up along the streets, hunters were shooting into the air. I rode in a black car and as I stepped out, my black shoes were shining. Indeed, my dream had come true.

In today’s Bible reading, Adam gave each animal a name after conceiving it and God endorsed the names. What do you think about yourself? Where do you see yourself in 5, 10, 15 years from now? My dear, you will become what you envision, think and say about yourself.

KEY POINT:
Spend ten minutes prophesying into your life, studies, career, and destiny today.

HYMN: When We Walk With The Lord

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who
will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while
we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and
obey.

But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust
and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in
the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and
obey.
