TOPIC: Be Optimistic

MEMORISE: Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well: 2 Kings 4:26

READ: Romans 8:23-25

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 79-81, Romans 8:1-39

MESSAGE:

To be optimistic means to be hopeful in a difficult situation. In 1 Kings 4:1-34 , the Shunammite woman whose only child died in her laps was optimistic to the extent that even when she got to Prophet Elisha, she still said It is well (1 Kings 4:26). God expects every child of His to be optimistic. I always tell my children that my tomorrow shall be alright. This has proven to be true in my life, yet, I will keep saying it till I see Jesus in glory. No matter what situation you find yourself in, never give up. Know that your future is great; your beautiful hopes and dreams will come to pass so long as you remain with Jesus.

Never allow worry because when you worry over little things, you will miss out on the big things God is preparing for you. Matthew 6:25-26 admonishes us not to worry about tomorrow because the God that feeds the birds knows our needs. So, when worry sets in, praise God instead.

KEY POINT: His thoughts towards you will bring you to an expected end.

HYMN: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire;
As Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire.

While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll,
Blest Saviour, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.
