Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 65-67, Romans 2:1-29
MESSAGE:
The scriptures can never lie. God can never fail in fulfilling His promises. When He promises to do something, He will do it but at His pace. The beautiful thing is God’s pace is the best because He made us, He knows what is best for us. Unfortunately, some children of God are impatient; when they want something, they want it instantly, so, they constrain God to their personal schedule. These days, a lot of young ones want to become rich overnight. In the higher institutions of learning, there are undergraduates from humble backgrounds who envy the lifestyle of some of their colleagues with wealthy parents and want to live like them. This has led them into fraudulent practices, prostitution, cultism et cetera.
My Child, anyone who gets involved in ungodly acts just to make fast money has settled for something below God’s best and shortchanged his/her destiny for immediate enjoyment which will never last. Are you at the verge of giving up hope over your situation or prayer request?
Please, don’t! Remain steadfast in your walk with God and keep believing Him for His best in all the areas of your life. Wait patiently for His time.
PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to wait patiently for Your will.
HYMN: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.
May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire;
As Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire.
While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.
When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll,
Blest Saviour, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.
