TOPIC: Scoring Wrongs?

MEMORISE: Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:36

READ: Ezekiel 18:26-27

When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 7-9, Acts 17:1-34

MESSAGE:

There is a distinction between remembering past situations and holding wrongs against people. When some one has been traumatized through abuse or violence, painful memories can last for years, but if you forgive your offender(s), the healing process will be faster.

One of the reasons people keep records of wrongs is so that they can revenge. Some people go as far as planning their revenge carefully and striking the offender when he or she least expects. This is ungodly and should not be practiced by any child of God. Our God is always forgiving, He never keeps records of wrongs. Imagine what would happen to the world including you if He did. So, if you are His child, you will let go of wrongs no matter how painful it is. A practical way to do this is to pour your heart to God in sincerity; tell Him how hurt and angry you are. Then, plead that He sends His peace into your heart and takes away the pain. If you do this, you will find it easy to forgive and let go of the wrong done to you. This is what I do and it works. If God has never failed me, He will not fail you.

ACTION POINT: Discard any dairy of wrongs today and forgive.

HYMNS: Let Us With A Gladsome Mind

Let us with a gladsome mind
Praise the Lord for He is kind;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

Let us sound His name abroad,
For of gods He is the God;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

He, with all-commanding might,
Filled the new-made world with light;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

All things living He doth feed,
His full hand supplies their need;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

He His chosen race did bless
In the wasteful wilderness;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

He hath with a piteous eye
Looked upon our misery;
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

Let us with a gladsome mind
Praise the Lord for He is kind.
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.
