MEMORISE: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:16

READ: Ephesians 5:16

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 3-5; Matthew 2

MESSAGE:

I have one question for you and please be sincere in your response before God. Are you happy with how you lived last year? Let me be more specific. Are you happy with the grades you made? Did you make your parents happy or sad? Did you engage in sports? Did you do anything to identify or sharpen God’s gifts in your life? If your answer is in the negative, don’t lose hope, this new year presents another opportunity to start afresh. Take careful note of the things you wish you did better last year, and start making plans. For example, if your grades were not so good last year, then you need to schedule how much time will spend studying your books daily. Last year, you probably only read when exams were approaching, and also did your assignments late. All these things and more are what affected your grades, so you need to change them. You need to study everyday from now, not just when exams are approaching. If you had a friend who distracted you from your studies, you need to unfriend that fellow now. Deliberately limit and control the time you spend playing games or on social media.

In whatever area you wish last year was better for you, you need to take out time now and map out the strategy that you will use to ensure that this year is positively different. Remember you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

ACTION POINT:

Write out the things that you want to be better at this year and draw out a plan on how to achieve each of these goals.

Hymn 7: Take my life and let it be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
