Topic: Love Moves God

Memorise: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” – John 14:21

Read: John 14:21-23

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 5-6, 1 Timothy 1

MESSAGE:

Haggai 2:8 says all the gold and silver on earth belongs to God. Psalm 50:10 also says the cattle on a thousand hills belong to God. This tells us that God owns the entire universe and therefore lacks nothing.

Since your God is this great, you should look for what you can do to get Him to move in your favour. One of the things you can do for Him to move in your favour is to love Him. Your love for God can be expressed through giving your time, resources and life to Him. If you never withhold anything from God, He will never withhold anything from you too. 1 Samuel 2:30b says:

“for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”

Is there an area in your life where you need God’s move? After trying prayers to no avail, thank and worship Him in love, you can also give an offering, attaching it to that area and see Him move on your behalf.

Reflection: What has the love you have for God moved you to do for Him?

Hymn 9:

1 I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the book He has given;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see;
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus love me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

2 Though I forget Him and wander away,
Still He doth love me whenever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee,
When I remember that Jesus loves me.

3 Oh, if there’s only one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song in eternity be,
“Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me.”
