Open Heavens forTeens 20 December 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Topic — Saving; A Requirement Of Wealth
Memorise: There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. – Proverbs 21:20
Read: Genesis 41:29-36 (KJV)
Bible In One Year: Micah 4-5, Revelation 11
MESSAGE:
One of the major ways God provides for us is through money. Going by this, it would mean that the money we have isn’t ours, but God’s. Hence, God is very interested in what we do with the money He gives us. Asides spending the money wisely and for His glory, saving part of the money shows good stewardship on our part.
A good saving culture can never be over emphasized. As a teen, you might think that you have no reason to save since your parents provide your needs. According to our Bible reading for today, no one could ever have known that a terrible famine was waiting to happen. If they hadn’t saved up when they had plenty, they would have died when the famine came. That is what saving does; it provides a sure covering on rainy days. How much do you get daily from your parents? You should decide to save up a bit of that money.
Key Point: A wise man saves for his future, a fool doesn’t.
Hymn 3: here shall be showers of blessing
- There shall be showers of blessing
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Sent from the Savior above
Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop ’round are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
- There shall be showers of blessing
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. - There shall be showers of blessing
Send them upon us O Lord
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honor Thy Word. - There shall be showers of blessing
Oh that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
