Teens Open Heavens 7 Sunday October 2018 Daily Devotional written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Topic: It Is Not Yours

Memorise: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. – 1 Corinthians 3:17

Read: Matthew 1:17-19 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 37-38, Philippians 3

MESSAGE:

The genealogy listed in our Bible reading included even those who were carried away in exile into Babylon and those born in the land of captivity did not exempt them from the list; you should never be tired or discouraged during your trying moments.

Also, never ever think of lowering your standards or giving out your body in exchange for something you want just because the times are hard. Keep yourself pure no matter what. Your body isn’t just yours at all, it belongs to the Most High who sees all at all times. He is watching how you use your body, so you should only use it to glorify Him. using your body to glorify Him improves your body and its value, whereas using your body otherwise makes it to deteriorate. Be wise.

Key Point: The choice you make today determines the events of tomorrow. Watch your choices.

Hymn 7: I am Thine O Lord

1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
