Read: Psalms 12:4-5

4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 20-22, 2 Timothy 1

MESSAGE:

Whatever makes you breathe in deeply in sadness is something that causes you great grievance or displeasure. In situations like that, you feel that there is no hope or no way out. But know that God will keep you safe. He will always be there for you and with you no matter the situation.

Do not despair about that subject you keep failing. Don’t let it dim your dreams of getting into the University. Don’t become sad because your parents cannot afford to buy the textbook you need to pass your exam. Rather that despair and live in self pity, why not look to God and ask Him to turn your situation. There is no negative situation that God cannot make positive. He is the One that takes aan from the miry clay and place Him on a high tock. No matter how bad your situation is, God has dealt with much worse. All you nned yo do is turn to Him and talk to Him about what you are going through. No one else can turn things around for you, only He can, so why not sit up and telling Him what you want Him to do for you. The Holy Bible says ask and you shall receive. Don’t just wallow in pity and keep sighing and complaining. Speak to God. Ask rather than sigh.

Key Point: Whatever it may be, cultivate the habit of handing it over to God.

Hymn 1: My faith looks up to Thee

1. My faith looks up to Thee,

Thou Lamb of Calvary,

Savior divine!

Now hear me while I pray,

Take all my guilt away,

Oh, let me from this day

Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart

Strength to my fainting heart,

My zeal inspire!

As Thou hast died for me,

Oh, may my love to Thee

Pure, warm and changeless be,

A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,

And griefs around me spread,

Be Thou my guide;

Bid darkness turn to day,

Wipe sorrow’s tears away,

Nor let me ever stray

From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,

When death’s cold sullen stream

Shall o’er me roll;

Blest Savior, then, in love,

Fear and distrust remove;

Oh, bear me safe above,

A ransomed soul.
