Topic: Power Of The Tongue

Memorise: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” – Proverbs 18:21

Read: James 3:6

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 75-77, Romans 6

MESSAGE:

According to our memory verse for today, the power of life and death is in your tongue. If your tongue is so powerful, then you should not use it anyhow, that is a great weapon you have in your mouth, use it wisely. You should cultivate the habit of using your tongue to give life to certain situations and to kill other situations, depending on what you need per time. Use your tongue to speak yo that stubborn sickness to leave you alone, speak to your brain that it should be more retentive, speak to your parent’s finances that they will always flourish, speak to demons and curses to leave you and your family alone. You have the power right there in your mouth, use it!

When Jesus cast out demons in Mark 3, and people said he was casting them out with evil powers, He said a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. This means it does not matter how powerful your tongue is, if it is of the devil, it cannot work against the devil. If your tongue is to work against the devil, you need to read and confess the word of God regularly, praise God with that tongue and speak in tongues regularly

Key Point: If you tongue carries the fire of God, nothing can dare disobey you

Hymn 7: I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice

1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,

And it told Thy love to me;

But I long to rise in the arms of faith

And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord

To the cross where Thou hast died;

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,

To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,

By the pow’r of grace divine;

Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,

And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour

That before Thy throne I spend,

When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God

I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know

Till I cross the narrow sea;

There are heights of joy that I may not reach

Till I rest in peace with Thee.
